HISTORY:

The Elka Drumstar 80 is a unique and underrated drum machine that blends professional features with the character of classic rhythm boxes. It offers 32 punchy and crisp sounds, 12 individual outputs with dedicated volume faders, and a wide sound palette including kicks, snares, toms, handclaps, hi-hats, cymbals, plus Latin and percussion instruments such as congas, bongos, cowbell, agogo and guiro.

Unlike many machines of its era, the Drumstar includes several hi-hat variations and highly musical preset rhythms with fills and intros, making it especially strong for live performance and fast groove creation. Its sound sits between vintage character and clean definition: powerful, lively, and full of personality.

While the programming functions are limited compared to later machines, the Drumstar remains a hidden gem whose real value lies in its distinctive tone and instantly inspiring grooves.
